They seem to be a bit mixed. The main scale seems to be 1/48 rather than 1/72. The Hurri's don't look too bad apart from the orange one. Corgi has received flak some some of the schemes chosen but FM do it better. 1/48 scale B17 in Swiss markings?

I've never seen one that has tempted me even in the MZ sale.

While most Franklin Mint products may not appeal to the very 'fickle' and selective collectors out there, there are some really decent models to be had in that assorted lineup. For instance, I recently bought the MiG-15, F4U Corsair in French Flotille markings and the B-25 bomber "Lady Lil". I really enjoy and very much satisfied in adding these birds in my hangar. :)

If you are a real Spitfire enthusiast then I would avoid the FM versions, not good.

However I think that FM is slowly improving their quality so they are always worth a look at, but look first in the flesh so to speak before you buy.

.

Better still avoid all diecast spitfires except for, possibly, the Gemini ones (with the correct green of course!)

I have seen quite a few of the FM versions in the flesh myself, but I will stick to the Hobby Master versions instead, thank you very much. ;)

Agreed. :)

Totally agree DCR. You have to be really careful what you select and puchse, but overall now for the money I think they are good.

I have heard rumours about Franklin Mint and their production for the future and why these are being reduced as they are, but cannot confirm as yet. Interesting, very interesting. :)
