I've recently been looking for the Corgi Jag T.2 of 41 Sqn, and can't seem to lay hold of one. Ebay has plenty of the raspberry ripple's, but the 41 jet seems to be getting quite illusive! Is this one going to be one of the top dollar models of the future do we think?

Top dollar I'm not sure about. Might well be one of the better sellers out of the corgi Jags though. The first two are starting to attract bids now and while they're still not fetching a fortune they are selling. The 41 Sqn T2 is a nice model though, so I'd think it'll go higher than its current price :)

Just had a PM from one of the chaps here, found a £14.99 de-cert jobbie so looks like I'm sorted. Cheers chaps. :)

I think the model has been quite cheap at various times from various sellers (Hattons, Jumblies etc...) but it never seemed to raise much of a murmer on the forum and they haven't been that common on ebay. Quite surprised as I think it's a very nice model - even with that second cannon and the crappy approxi-fit nosecone.

Second Cannon? Feck I hadn't noticed that!
Oh well it'll be displayed left side on anyway, so it'll hide the offending item. As Corgi had to re-design the nose for the T.2/4 anyway, you'd think they would've noticed that and sorted it out. Same old story with Corgi I guess, always taking their eye off the ball and seldom paying attention to the details. :( Sorry there was absolutely no excuses for this blunder as the entire nose section was replaced from the intakes forward.

But the fit is "stepped", the cannon forms part of the fuselage mould rather than the nose. Someone clearly didn't think of this when they tooled it to make the nose replaceable. Don't let it put you off though PJ, it still looks the part and it's still the best Jag to date :)

I see. I was looking at the pics on Mr Tricatus's website, and it just looked like the entire nose section was fitted to the fuselage. The diecast record on accurate modern jet subjects remains bad then! :(
I would still like to see a nice RAFG Jaguar though, any 2, 14, 17, 20, 31 Sqn jets would do well! :)

It would be nice, and if done well I'd have one. As I've often said though, my "holy grail" is a Jag done in the CORRECT two tone grey, and preferably in standard Sqn markings rather than a commemorative tailfin. Don't mind if it's a GR3A, T2 or T4, just so long as it looks something like! With the recent disbandment of 6 Sqn, it's a pity Corgi didn't see the opportunity, maybe a belated tribute for the end of this year? :)

AGHHHHH! Please no more grey!!! I think this is why I find the current modern stuff so boring these days, when I think back to the 70's and 80's there were proper colour schemes for each of the air forces, now if you go to Florennes on an average TLP day, it's just a sea of multi-national grey jets, dull dull dull!

The nose sections are cut vertically, there is no 'step' Its a straight fit. The cannons are separate plastic parts to ease moulding and to provide ( I presume)the options for the French versions etc.

OK, thanks for that Scaleplanes, if that is the case shame Corgi haven't seen fit to produce another plastic piece, would hardly be a big job in the scheme of things.
PJ-I see your point on the grey, but I've grown up with the stuff and with the Sqn markings even the grey jets can look bright and they do have a bit of character. The main problem has been that they've been universally very poorly executed! There's a lot of stuff out there in camo, but very little thats any good for the modern military collector. Each to their own I guess, but I do think current markings could well be good sellers due to aircrew also wanting models of their Squadron's aircraft.

Things were going grey even in the mid eighties. The F-16's at Hahn and Ramstein being good examples, then the Euro 1 Spang F-4G's were re-painted Hill Grey and it started to avalanche from there. :( Interestingly the Lakenheath F-111's remained in their SEA schemes until the end.
I just about remember seeing camo Phantom FGR.2's, but then they all went AD grey which was a logical move as their ground attack and recce roles had long passed onto the Jaguar squadrons.

My this takes me back. I remember when we got the first all grey Lightning on 5 at Binbrook. It was Late 81 I think.
It seemed a really strange idea at the time. Didn't half get dirty quick with lots of oily boots walking all over it.

 Yeah our Phantoms were the same, black scuff marks all down the fuselage sides from the boots! I wonder if Gemini will paint those on their F-4M's for extra detail?

Well my new addition finally arrived, and apart from the cock up over the second cannon, it looks great! I'm also very impressed at the way Corgi have finally woken up and realised the need to do something about the undercarriage's on their models. The Hawk was well thought through, and this Jaguar is no different IMHO. I've always liked the two seater Jaguar, so this is indeed a welcome addition to my Cold War collection.
I've just started a new thread with the pictures!

I agree that the 41 Sqdn. Jag surely is Corgi“s best one. The ETPS Jag (mine) could have been even better, but Corgi messed up the exhaust nozzles (black instead of silver) and they "insisted" on keeping the second cannon although everyone here told Corgi about that mistake before issueing the "Raspbery Ripple" Jag. Sadly, 41 Sqdn. Jag would not match the rest of my collection very well, not despite of but just because of its well done camo scheme. I just needed a colourful contrast.
