I remember reading that, during the Battle Of France (1939 to 1940) , a German Aircrew were beheaded by French colonial troops. As far as I can recall, the aircraft crash landed and the crew got out alive, only to be executed on the spot.
I thought I read it in Paul Richey’s book Fighter Pilot, but cannot find it in it. Does anyone know in which book this incident was written about  . Also, is the incident recorded in the After The Battle book on the Battle For France
