I dont know whether this is a load of old boll*cks or what, perhaps the compooter geeks would know.. if it is then please just delete the thread - if not.. it is the kind of thing that one gets from the odd (very odd) aquaintance and I suppose we should be on the look out.... dont want to lose all our piccies of copulating toads or red buses...

None of it is my work... The first few lines are a response to the later E Mail from some compooter geek chappie.......

Hi All

I have a natural aversion to sending this sort of thing but our IT guy has checked this and it is a particularly nasty one.

I also checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus.
I also checked snopes.com, and it is for real.

Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS.

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'You have received a POSTCARD from a family member,' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US.

Agent,

I believe it is a hoax and something appeared along the same lines last year. It is designed to act as a 'chain email' to clog up email servers.

I am continually asking friends, relatives and work colleagues not to forward me emails asking to pass them on to everyone I know - it doesn't stop them though.......

Snopes really does say it is real as per the message body. Details HERE (http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/postcard.asp).

Snopes also say this at the bottom of the page

Readers should take particular care not to confuse the real postcard/greeting card virus with the "Virtual Card for You" hoax that has been circulating for several years

Which is the subject above.

Microsoft are not reporting it as a virus and there is no such thing as 'the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc' (sic). It is a fake alert designed to cause panic and then the resending of the email to more recipients - a chain email.
