So Ebay does a bit of enforced double dipping, I guess it was only a matter of time :(

Wont be long before its over here.... As a buyer, really not that bothered, but I guess as a seller its a hard knock...

I presume this doesnt stop you using a credit card or popping round with cash..? .. or does it..?

Whilst I think the "eBay trust and safety director's" comments are very cynical I don't think it will make much difference. Most ebayers have a PayPal account and as many of us have noted, not offering PayPal tends to reduce prices for the seller.

Ebay fees are IMPO excessive but then if you went to a sale room to offer goods it is surprising how much their fees can amount to for both the seller and the buyer.

Exactly what I posted elsewhere on this forum.

In the end. Ebay and Paypal fees combined appear to be about 10% of the final selling price. Personally that is reasonable for a system that makes selling so easy.

Just so long as ebay don't twig on the Buyers premium, that Auction places apply

I think its basically Paypal or pickup, a credit card can be used via paypal. Some of the ppl over here reckon there will be alot more PM's going through the system as buyers select 'pickup' then get the bank deposit details from the buyer and carry on as usual. Not sure how things would go then when parcels do not arrive etc......ebay won't be any help :o
