Other than building your own 1:144 models has anybody added to the their 144 Corgi collection through the addition of non Corgi models. Sacrilige I know and hard to find but I have 7 non Corgis to bulk out the collection. What about you?
I recommend-
Model Power E2C Hawkeye in 1:145
F-Toys-JMSDF Seaking
Dragon Can.do-Stukas

Will soon be adding Model Power Heinkel He111 in 1:140 and hopefully their Catalina when it is released if its in a good enuff scale.

Yes the model power stuff has some interesting pieces, which you are unlikely to see in the likes of Corgi or Dragon.....

Bugger. I just missed out on the Model Power Heinkel on ebay by 50p. The sad thing was it was an early issue BoB version. "Whats so good about one of those" I hear you say. Well it has SWASTIKAS!

Received my Model Power 1:150 F15 Eagle. Nice model overall for the size but it loses out because of the interior of the cockpit which drags it down to toy level. I a little more though had been put into this such as painting the canopy a none see through colour a la Corgi Showcase F16 or just painting the cockpit itself in black or a rudimentary colour scheme Id be happier but as it is, it isn't bad.

I'm looking forward to their release of 2 Catalinas in USAF and USN markings and 2 B26 Marauders at the start of December in 1:150 scale.

What I don't understand about Model Power is the fact that they try to make all the WW II planes so they have either a 5.5" wingspan or an 8" wingspan or something like this. I wrote them and they said that their research showed that this is what the buyers wanted so they wouldn't take up too much room.

It would be great if all the real life WW II planes came in only two wing spans but they don't. Model Power make the B-29 with an 8" WS and then they make the B-24 with an 8" WS. Sitting side by side in a display case, someone who doesn't know that the real B-29 had a 141' WS and the B-24 only had 110' WS, would be mislead into thinking that in real life they were both the same size.

I don't know why they can't do certain era large wing planes, in one scale so the viewer can get some sense of the difference between various planes. For instance, take WW II planes, that if they were made in 1/72 scale would have a WS of 9" or more, then make them all in 1/144 scale. This scale is still large enough to appreciate the detail of these planes and it would still be small enough so that it won't take a huge area of your display case. This making models in 1/100, 1/200, 1/163, 1/120 and so on, really bothers me and keeps me from buying any of their models. I would like to get some of the WW II bombers that Corgi doesn't make but only if they are made in one consistent scale.

I not only want a half descent looking model, I want people to be able to look at them and say," boy that B-29 sure is a lot bigger than a B-24 or B-25."

If you agree with me email MP and voice your opinion. If they get a lot of requests this is the only way they will do anything about it.

Just my two cents worth.
Happy collecting!!!

I think they are one of the companies - it doesn't matter what they do - that basically ensure that they get the answer they want when they do their "research" and then spout it at every opportunity to prove (to themselves) their point.

I thought that their aim was to make whatever the model was fit the box - like Matchbox toys in the UK (and probably Hotwheels today ) did.
No matter whether it was a small car or a main battle tank - it had to fit in the standard box.

Horrido!

Just the same principle as Corgi use on their 'showcase' sic range. decide on the size of the box and then make everything you do fit that size.
eezy, peezy.
In the immortal words of a certain FZ "One size fits all" ...gawd bless 'im :o

To follow up my earlier comments about being disappointed wiht the cockpit on the Model Power F15, I did a little painting. The cockpit canopy has now received an internal coat of black paint and is back in place. Being a modification done by me, it isn't utterly perfect but looks pretty good as long as you don't get a magnifying glass out. The black cockpit now brings its appearance a little more into line with the Showcase style of dark canopies. Wouldn't have said no to some missiles instead of drop tanks though.
