What do you think of it Bob,..?

Bit of prose granted but still small piccies and no 360 degree stuff...

Well it would appear that they do ship abroad, however it does not tell you how much it costs!!! Nice....

Went halfway through the process to test it out, got to the point where it ask for payment, but had still not displayed what the P&P would be....

Seems a slight oversight if they are going to be shipping abroad.....

I don't think anyone will be able to compte with Tricatus' site, Agent. Perhaps we're spoiled! :D

Aside from the small photos, I do think the new US site is a major improvement. For one thing, the fact that Corgi/US improved it at all shows that they want to improve. For another, the news features - such as "Keeping Old Crow in the Air" - show that Corgi is trying to stimulate interest in the real aircraft and ultimately, their model of it. Another nice touch is the free e-newsletter you can sign up for. Possibly the electronic equivalent of Corgi's printed 'Flight Recorder' without the Club dues or expense of printing and mailing.

And lastly, a startingly-new innovation is the free catalog sign-up form. Previously the only access we in the States had to Corgi's catalogs were eBay or a few select sympathetic dealers who might have an extra one left over from the previous year. Can you imagine this? You send a customer a catalog, he likes what he sees, he orders your product, you make money. It's so crazy it just might work.

So, in summation, I guess I'm pleased and optimistic. ;)

If I like then the price moves from a tenner to perhaps £12.50

No likey.. .. hey ho......well, thats all the site should really be for, to sell their models .. so some 360's please . some close ups.. bit like that Tricatus chappie...

The site is better than what they had before. However I don't know why they have 2 (UK & US) websites. It seems to me to be unnecessary duplication.

They need your full address so they can send you applications for credit cards, investing opportunities in Nigeria, and coupons good for 1% off on your next Corgi purchase.... :D

some of the models are quite a bit cheaper - or nearer to what the UK RRP should be..

eg 1/32 Me109 is $79 which converts to about £45 ? and the Canberra is about £24 ?

1/32 Me 109G RRP - £45- I dont think so..!!

3 months later Me 109 Dump Bin - £25..

NeilD
21st November 2004, 21:51
yes but £45 RRP is a lot closer to the £25 dumpster prediction than the £90 they currently want !

Naw they want £90 here, and youve gotta be keen to part with that..

.. then we head south..... for the summer.... and we end up at £25/30..

So why not flog em all up front at £45...??
