View Full Version : Grumman Avenger Photo Request

I'm going to be doing up a Grumman Avenger as a water bomber used in Western Canada circa 1950-1965. We had lots at our airport, but I have NO definitive photos and I'd prefer not to have to rely on my rusty memory (although it may come to that!).

Do any of you guys happen to have in your aviation photo archives any shots of these birds? I'd be happy with anything I can get -- OR -- directions to a site that may have some.

Yes -- I've looked through Airliners.net, which often yields up odd stuff like this.

Thanx in advance. (Have I posted this in the right place??)

My local library does have a book with a lot of pics of these fire bombers in but I cannot remember its name will look when I go back in for you

Thank you very, very much! I've scoured the web, and my next step will be the traditional source of 'analogue resources' (books) but I haven't had a chance to get to my specialist book shop just yet. Anything you have, feel free to either post directly here; be it a web link, book title, photo -- anything will be appreciated.

Thanx again -- Most grateful.
