Came across this book locally this week. It's by Mike Ingham and covers over 100 memorials in our fair county. Good directions to various memorials, it's well worth a look, particularly if you're based in or around Lincolnshire.
A bonus for me was inside the front cover was a bookplate stating that this particular plate had been flown in PA474 from Coningsby to St Athans on 25th September 1995.

yep agree with that, picked mine up in the post office in Conigsby village - they've got a reasonable selection of books in there if anyone is visiting the BBMF etc... my copy was also one of the 'flown' ones and signed by Mike Chatterton and Rick Groombridge (lanc pilot and OC BBMF at the time)

It's a cracking little book. Mine also has the same signatures in it as well. I hadn't realised that the author of High Flight, John Gillespie Magee, is laid to rest at Scopwick, near Lincoln. I have the poem on a plaque in the same room as my AA's never realising the author was buried in our county.

Wow - Dragged this one from the depths, but I was passing Cherry Willingham and Reepham the otehr day and noticed a new memorial on the site of the what once was RAF Fiskerton....
Had no idea. Didn't have my camera or phone with me as I was cycling, but next time I will pass and take some pictures.
Looks like the land owner has allowed this to be errected.
Also, if anyone has the new Memorial Flight 2007 Spring edition there is a very good article with original pictures of the station as it once was..... Nice timing!
