That sounds like a good idea. Would have to source a BOAC Mossie from somewhere though  .

Youll be okay there as it could come out as a Wartime BOAC boxed set.. in War Economy packaging !!!!!
Surprised we never saw a Camo BOAC York... a la Sunderland.

Don't think we can do that, as the civil Liberator was the LB-30 with solid nose, all gun turrets removed etc, might be too much to do, but will look into it.

Quite a few differences between a B-24 and the civil LB-30, G/B. Don't imagine Corgi would invest in the required tooling. One big difference was in the engines: round cowlings instead of oval ones since the oil coolers on either side of the engine were relocated, and also the turbosuperchargers were not installed, if my memory is not too deficient. ;)

Thanks for that Bstein. I knew the nose was longer, thought this would be easy as mould was designed for different nose types. Maybe the join is in the wrong place? Engine cowlings shouldn't be difficult. And they managed to remove some of the lancs guns. So there we have it. Of course we could always push for a Privateer?? :D

well if they had any imagination (!!) it would come in a plastic lined box so that the upturned lid could be filled with water and your Mars floated upon it!! have I thourght about this a little too much ! :D

Here are some links to the LB-30 (Liberator, British, Model 30), G/B, if you have the interest.

I've seen the CAF "B-24" (LB-30) Diamond 'Lil up close and to my eye, at least, it only vaguely resembles a B-24. But that's the anorak in me speaking......
(See what you fellows have taught me? :D )

Bob, is right I'm afraid! I have had another look at this and there are too many changes. Removing the Lancs gun is not quite the same as completely changing the engines etc.! :(

Many thanks Albert, I was just trying to create some interest on these threads. Thought we might have been on to one here. Sigh. :(

Valiant attempt, G/B! (Valiant......Valiant......hmmmm....that reminds me...oh, never mind..... :D )
I'm with you: I wish the LB-30 wern't so different from a B-24. I'd buy at least four of 'em. Keep looking at the 1/144 line with an analytical eye. You might uncover more possibilities. ;)
