still needs a coat of varnish over it

this wasnt a very complex model build in itself...i would say that the more difficult area was getting the nose to close as it should...i suggest fixing the two fuselage halves to the wing assembly BEFORE putting the interior inside the model...might need some bulkhead trimming to get the roof to close up and align...but worth all that effort....

....and would look great next to a Ju 52 :)

That's a very interesting and different aeroplane. Nice build Chris! :) It's not too difficult to see where the Ju52 came from either!

thanks PJ

corrugations....tricky to get an even finish hence why the varnish is now needed...and to get the decals to set and shine evenly is another little worry to tackle...

....very few tools used as my toolkit is in Malta, and built this in London ;)

It's a weird looking thing! Well done on the masking though, to say that must have been a nuisance seems to not really go far enough! :D

Great build!

model is well decalled, revell helped the modeller quite a bit with that....the red bands on the wings with white crosses, crosses on the tail, red trim on the roof....those are decals and the rest is paint

revell provided the red, black and aluminium with the kit as tubs of acrylic paint....interior is olive with yellow from the mustang B....prop brown is olive and red to give brown....

used Henkel Copydex as filler, acts as pva glue and sets fast, easy to clean after as it peels away...

only difficult stage is getting the interior to fit around the front step into the fuselage....but left that till last, trimmed the bulkheads...roof then fitted with some ease

nose is around 6 parts, base, roof sides and the front grille fits like a stopper so closes up the sides....wasnt so easy tho

enjoyed it :)

thanks for the comments guys, appreciated

will probably build another in due course as its a nice model to build

tho next time will choose a livery with less decals....firstly because of the corrugations and secondly coz the paint will be done better on a second run, plus that it looks quite neat without as many colours on it

That's nice work Chris  , its an interesting airplane that will always look too short to me :)

This is the 2nd F13 that's popped up this week, the 1st was the 1/48 FM float plane version that came up in an ebay search I thought it was the Ju52 at 1st glance

I see you found a good use for those fast food containers too, I must save a couple of 'em

thanks Dilliga,

the F13's short length truly does seem odd, especially since the wings are quite long....

....for every model i've built (or modified if diecast) since Oct 2006...in fact the Ju F13 was the first kit i ever built here in the uk - all the others were constructed in malta

Great builds Chris.:cool :cool I really like your Italian aircraft. The Italians had some really neat camouflage patterns. Which you captured very well in your building of them. I really liked your Fiat CR. 32. That is one beautiful biplane.;) :)
