Hi guys from UK... :)

I'd like you explain to me what a toy fair looks like.
As I said before in an other thread, in France it seems that we haven't got the same thing... :o
I think it's a place like a big market where dealers sell toys...but I'd like some details : :p
First what sort of toys can we find ? Only diecasts or whatever ?
Is it open to all sellers, professionnals or amateurs ? Is it free ?
Does it need a special event (like airshow for example) to make a toy fair ?
What are the most famous ? The biggest ? How long does it last ?
Inside a building or out ?

Well these are, for the moment, the questions I'm thinking about...

Mr G....

We will be having a table or stand at the NEC on Sunday (one of teh larget in the country) and as such I will take some pictures of a toyfair for you and post them on the Forum for your information.....

Basically, it's normally a large hall or vanue where a lot of dealers/retailers each get a table or two and sell/promote their items they sell... They can range from diecast planes to comics to dolls houses to soft toys.... Anything toy related....

You pay an entrance fee to the organisers and then you go and hunt for the bargains..... Or try anyway...... You an get anything from 30 - 300 tables of toys.... Again, not all diecast aviation related though....

Hope that helps a little, but I will take some pictures for you too......

:D

Huntingdon I have never been too, so I cannot say I am afraid Mr G.... I know a couple of other members have been and may be able to tell you, sorry.....

I would say it will be much like the others, which should be pretty good, especially before Christmas..... Are you brining over any wine? Will trade you some AA's for your very cheap, but very good French wine..... :D

It's a deal...!
Do you want Red Chinon, or St Nicolas de Bourgueil ? Maybe you prefer white Sancerre or Vouvray ("moelleux" smooth- perfect with foie gras, 1/2 sec, or sec on a fish)...Bon appétit, sir !! ;)
But for this, you've to drive me on the spot... :D :D

Mr G, I think I may just struggle in collecting you and taking you to the Toyfair as I live quite a distance from Huntingdon, however, if I had been closer I may have taken you up on the kind offer.....

We have a few pictures of what the NEC toyfair looks like for you, hope you like and also our American friends might like to see them too.. :D

It was about 9.00am if I remember rightly.....

So everyone was still setting up with the odd earlybird floating around....

If there is a slight ghostly blur on the Image it is CFBC running around all the stalls :p :D

Thanks CFBC, :)
I'd say too that I appreciate you propose your help (in thread :"Third Commission - Polish Spitfire") for us, oversea's members to get the commissionned models from MZ.
At MZ they can't give me any informations on their future models and when their website will take international orders. So I may call on your services if they make a Nightfighter Mossie... :) .

As long as they are available and can be acquired, then I have no problems in helping any oversea's members with the M/Z issue's like i have at cost plus posting with the Dieppe Spitfires..... I still have one left if anyone is interetsed.... :)

Sorry for the delay in replying as I missed the reply back in December....... :D

Is the call here that this is going to be a commissioned model...???.. I cannot believe that Corgi would be that 'silly' to let that one go... However I also cant believe that they havent produced one yet... or a basic 105 Sqn day bomber.... but hey basic schemes dont sell... ha ha.. :D

58warren,

UPS delivered mine this AM. They knocked on the door, no-one was in so they dropped it over the garden gate! My wife arrived back an hour later and recovered it. It has been raining all morning in my part of the world.........

She says the package looks OK but 'is damp'!!!

 ShuttleShuttle - Best way to play it is phone M/Z directly and tell them.... UPS will try and fob yer off and M/Z pay their bills and as such UPS should have acquired a signiture also.... Hmmm. Thats not normally like UPS.....

Get M/Z to replace it as it's directly under there control mate..... :D Sorry to hear though and hope the Dieppe is ok inside....

I hope the Spit is not the worse for wear but it is not the first time it has happened from various carriers. I have had a box with two planes in it left on the door step for 48 hours and a couple just dropped over the garden gate. Good packing prevented any problems. On both occasions I have been told 'that it's not the normal driver today'!!.
