Default What one bought, (well photoshopped) this weekend 1/144 (and perchance a view or two)

I had a go at a Viscount the other day and felt it came out quite well... just shows that they aint that bad when they are wearing a bit of make up...

… and as there seems to be one or two collectors apearing on the scene, thought I would have a play with one of my favourites, the Cunard Eagle Britannia… So for Mr Upkeep, Av8tor, Bill, Aklington and anyone else that’s ‘coming out’..

models shown here are nothing like the real objects….

Default KLM Viscount - 'Louis Bleriot'

.. and another... I need to make a bespoke stand to photo these things on, the pooch one for these is hideously large and obscures a lot of body...

These have taken ages, and dont really look any better than the Continetal....

... hey ho....

They look good to me, Agent. Perhaps one day we'll all be collecting 'hologram' aircraft models, which appear at the flick of a switch in the display case, and where any number of colour schemes come as additional software options. Plus, of course, the option of adjusting the scale with the 'zoom' button, and having the model flying, or static.

But watch out for 'hackers', or they might 'crash'!

Missed out on the Qantas 707 (too rare and expensive ) but decided to settle on this British Airways version. Quite a well turned out model IMO, was there a question mark to do with the tail on these ??

The pooch 707 is a bit of a lump... handy for street combat..... as to the tail.. its just blo*dy wrong.... as in shape and Corgi has a reluctance to have the pitot on top... might take someones eye out... as a comparison, Inflight's version which in itself is starting to look an old mold...

Great shots of a great Britannia with a great lineage (ex-Canadian Pacific Airlines, CF-CPD). Stupid me -- I should have scooped that Cunard one when they were as cheap as chips here. Now all gone.

Default Hobby Master DC-2

For Christmas 2006 KLM Flight Operations presented all flight crew with a specially comissioned Hobby Master model of the famous DC-2 "Uiver" PH-AJU in the livery it sported during the famous London-Melbourne race of 1934. Came in 2nd behind "Grosvenor House" DH Comet!

I posted a picture of the model in the thread "other scales"

I have a lovely photo of the 'reconstuction' DC-2 "Uiver" PH-AJU sitting mounted in front of the Museum bearing the same name. Nice bit of a write up as well in the book "Douglas DC-3: The Survivors" by Kengo Yamamoto (still in print). A lovely book if one is into DC-2's/3's.

Wow! A special commisson from HM. THAT would be worth hanging onto for sure!

Sure, why not? Mr. Perry was selling those CPA Britannias off for $24.99 USD before he closed shop. I can tell you for a fact, that the pooch's version was 99.99999% correct. Only one tiny omission that most wouldn't know about. Amazing, but true! Worthy of using as a benchmark to judge others doing up the CPA Britannia in that 1961 livery.

Finally scored a 707 with a flying kangaroo on it, I remember seeing a fair few of the 'V-Jet' tails at Sydney Airport when we first landed there back in 1970.
I reckon it does'nt look half bad
