Default Hm 787-8

The new May 2010 HM releases flyer shows a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (HL5001) shipping June.

Dunno.. have related the facts to William inferring that he is one wheel short of a trolley - most probably be the last I see of him....

Totally and utterly off their ****ing heads... all pretend schemes and like prototypes of anything will no doubt change when they get into service.

Also encroaching on the plastic market and other manufacturers 'manors' - why get them riled when there is so much else to do...?

Was going so well too.. 1/200 nearly as much space as 1/72 on the latest flyer..

No doubt am talking b......t as usual and will be a runaway hit...

Hey ho..

Perhaps the 787 is going to be made of composite material instead of zinc?

Seriously given the size of the model you'd expect it to price below that of larger aircraft and as someone who doesn't collect that scale it sure looks to be more expensive than say the Gemini 777 which is a bigger aircraft.

I think we have an extra 1 in the equation $79 rather than $179...

still the wrong plane to do though...

LOL

Unfortunately I side with others and think HM have lost the plot. Phoenix did a perfectly presentable metal 787 in rollout and dream schemes, then the plastic ones by Hogan et al. Not sure it will be successful. If doing this why not a **A350XWB? which would be equally as daft.

** the way it's going will be delivered before the 787's.....

B787 first flight

Absolutely. I thought HM was entering the 1:200 ring via a unique product range: Vintage Propliners. So far, that is what I seen, and for the most part, they look pretty darn good! But why is HM delving into the same territory as Gemini, Herpa, InFlight and all the other assorted commercial airliner model manufacturers? That strikes me as sheer lunacy, given the current economy and the market share/loyalty some of these other makes have established.

Yeah -- good luck with that, HM.

Hobbymaster want to be everything to everybody, they want to rule the diecast world. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. They risk everything stretching their resources to the max.

They are all over the place. If there is a coherent plan I'd like to hear it. I think that they have just gone nuts. Still, a lot of good models coming out. Not including this $187 thing. Stick to your knitting HM.

Thumbs up

I applaud HM for joining the 1/200 diecast planes brigade, first their
vintage range and now the modern jets! I specially commend them for
introducing new features like interchangeable U/C for this scale.
You must admit that a plane on its stand looks better with the gear up.
The traditional diecast plane manufacturers have been resting on their
laurels and have become complacent and even lazy!!! HM is the new kid
in town with fresh innovative ideas and they're more than welcome.
Maybe we'll see more new features like transparent windows, lighting inside
the cabin and blinking nav lights and even movable surface control and extendable flaps.

Being in 1/200 scale CLASSIC MODEL AIRLINER is one thing, I have several and love them. The problem seems to be that HM has moved way over into the MODERN era airliners where all the other manufacturers are. It'll be tough going for HM. The only thing that they had not taken on is Corgi's WW I and its big bombers. Other than this, they are everywhere! Not a bad thing if they can keep everybody happy. One wonders if this is possible! I hope that they can.

Muted that you should be able to purchase alternative wings with a flaps down arrangement.. and are Herpa are playing with moveable rudders.....

Rest of what you have put up will be the preserve of plastic....

Hobby Master have decided not to produce the 1/200 Dreamliner....at the quoted price.....I think it is a wise decision
