These have started appearing on the market in the Colonies. I would like to hear from some that actually own this. I don't care about the "working range" part of it as I intend to display it on a normal Spit stand. I'm more interested in the colors and markings. Are they correct? Every picture I have seen makes the green look rather bright. For comparisons, I have the Lane, Bader, Grumpy, and Deere.

I really don't like the model. My example has very poor fit and finish of tailplane and wingtips (
) and, as you say, the colours are rather bright ( in the same way that many of the Sights'n'Snouds 1/72 models were ).Unless you can pick one up very cheaply ( as I did ) then my advice is not to bother unless you're a Tuck 'completist'.....

MB, thanks for the down and dirty review. I think I'll pass on this one while I await the Doe Spit to join the others.

I'm a big fan of Tucky but agree entirely with MB's review. This Spit model looks very toy-like... if you stand it next to your 'Grumpy' Unwin model you'll be very disappointed.

Tis a great shame that both Malan & Tuck's 1/32 Spits are 'howlers'
I couldn't part with my Malan soon enough...... |

How did Corgi get the WR so wrong then? Does this apply to all the WR models as well? I was tempted by the Tuskegee Mustang once...

![]() There are a number of issues with the W/R Spits including a tacky apple green colour (not sure if the piccy below will show that or not), the underside of the ailerons were not painted either... Still mine sold quickly to a local chap who is happy with it although the temperamental base is not allowing the gear to drop. I took these pics for my auctions using 'normal' bases. I could NEVER display on a W/R base ![]() |

Typical old Corgi slackness though, the main decal is too far up the blade.
