Default No more 1/144...??. so whats next...??.

Well bought everything one can in 1/144 with only a couple of holes in the 'collection' but it looks like I will see St Peter before we get anything like the subjects one really wants to see from the diecast dog company.. so like many of us better look for an alternative..

Anyone care to offer an opinion as to the scales one should be collecting..

.. seems that 1/200 has some pretty esoteric subjects and prices...

1/250 well.... its having problem getting off the ground..

1/400 lotsa lovely examples but a little bit on the small side..

1/500 and 600.. too small really..?

Not really after the rare rare stuff.. but a civil collection should have DC4/6/7/89/10 727/737/747/707 as a minimum.. (VC10/DH121 a bonus..)

(Think its seems to be the 200ths that get the juices flowing.. the likes of the Inflight stuff.. are they better than the Corgi examples..)??

Ta..

yep 1/200, despite the price... missed out on a BEA Bristol freighter by 1 the other night... must practice this 'sniping' business.

Mr. ND,

Avoid messing about, wait until the last 60 to 90 seconds and enter your maximum bid !! Remember if you lose someone else paid. Once entered 50 for an item and still got it for 28.01 !!!.............

S'funny watched that freighter as well, didn't rebid as went over the 25 I was prepared to pay. Missed a Viking before that at 26. These retail at over 100. Probably worth 40-70 depending on subject. I'm only interested in sub 50. preferably less, hence why 250th is rapidly appearing as the viable/only option. (See post re: Gemini 250th Boeing 737's)
The other problem with 400th apart from size, is Gemini do concentrate on US subjects and Dragon wings on US and Asian subjects, pretty obvious as thats where the market is. So relatively fewer European schemes and hence higher prices.

yep thats the way to do it..!

agree with you Gooney, 50 is really my max for an item too, so have to be lucky with the 1/200 stuff to get it at that price.. whilst I'm still pciking up the 1/144 b707s at less than 20 I'm struggling to justify paying 12+ for the 1/400 versions despite the benfits of space, the variations in schemes etc etc... at the moment..

Thumbs up

Things are looking much clearer now (cleaned me spex!). Since Gemini appear to be supporting 250th with the B737 announcement. That will be at least (hopefully) more DC8's, MD80, and 737's.
Herpa are about to release a lovely polished 1/200th B727 American Airlines, in old 60's colors, in diecast. Must get that Lufty one they did. So there should be 250th GJ at under 50 and Herpa at at a bit less. And can always fill in with more specialist 200/250th's if I want a Trident/Vanguard etc.
And forget Corgi AA altogether.

Just so F**ckin' annoyed Corgi have been incapable of getting their act together. Bunch of absolute T**sers of the first degree.

Yeah but 200th / 250th look reasonable together. 144th and 400th err don't think so.

Well at nearly 90 for a Vanguard.. ( cheaper to buy new).. Agents foray into 1/200 has somewhat stalled..!!

And in the last week or so BEA BAC111/Viking/Bristol 170. Approx 75/26/45. bit pricy.
Just missed the Viking by a pound.
